On M ay 1 8 a t a pproximately 7:21 p.m., the St. Louis Co Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of a water emergency on Iron Lake in the BWCA.
The caller reported two canoes had gone over Curtain Falls during the incident, one party was badly injured and two individuals were missing.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., A DNR helicopter was used to extract Kyle Sellers, 47, of Ham Lake, MN. He was flown to Essentia Duluth with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Other members of the party were Erik Grams, 43, of Ham Lake, MN and Jared Lohse, 33, of Cambridge, MN.
The St. Louis Co. Rescue Squad is continuing to search for the two missing individuals, Jesse Haugen, 41, of Cambridge, MN and Reis Grams, 40, of Lino Lakes, MN.
