BABBITT CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING May 2, 2024 SUMMARY MINUTES (Full text of the minutes are available at City Hall during normal office hours.)
1. The Regular meeting of the Babbitt City Council was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Present were Councilors Anderson, Hoheisel, Lassi, White, and Mayor Lossing.
3. Also present was Clerk-Treasurer Jaeger.
4. Motion carried to authorize additions and deletions.
5. Motion carried to approve the consent agenda.
6. Motion carried to adopt Ordinance No. 262.
7. Motion carried to adopt Ordinance No. 263.
8. Motion carried to adopt Ordinance No. 264.
9. Motion carried to approve Bollig Engineering Task Order No. 1.
10.Motion carried for the St. Louis County Solid Waste fee to be assessed on resident taxes.
11.Discussion regarding Fire Department purchase of a Type 4 Chassis.
12.Motion carried to authorize Chief Chamberlin to look into options and pricing for a Type
4 Chassis.
13.Motion carried to adopt Resolution No. 2024-06.
14.Discussion regarding exterior
center and repair options.
15.Motionrescindedtoadopta new credit card use and meal reimbursement policy.
16.Discussion regarding the credit card use policy and meal reimbursement to be reviewed at the next council meeting.
17.Discussion regarding previous approval for a Fire Department Type 4 Chassis and funding opportunity for more equipment.
18.Motion rescinded granting permission to look into Type 4 Chassis options.
19.Motion carried to authorize Chief Chamberlin to purchase a used Type 4 Chassis not to exceed $75,000.00.
20.Discussion regarding balancing of statements and department funds.
21.Motion carried to authorize attendance and work for the Building and Development Summit for Northeastern MN.
22.Mayor Lossing spoke to recognize recent city staff and community efforts.
23.The next council meeting is May 21, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
24.Motion carried to adjourn the meeting at 6:14 p.m.
