There will be choices for Babbitt voters in the Nov. 5 general election. There will be two candidates for mayor along with six candidates for two council seats after filings closed Tuesday.
FormermayorAndreaZupancich and current council member Joe White will battle for mayor.
Incumbents Glenn Anderson and Paul Hoheisel are being challenged by current mayor Duane Lossing, former council member Terry Switajewksi along with John Fitzpatrick and Craig Warlof.
Babbitt does not have a primary for mayor and city council offices. The mayor’s term is for two years and the council seats are both four year terms.
For the St. Louis County School District, there were two people who filed to represent Northeast Range.
Incumbent Chris Koivisto will face off against Leigh Backe for District 4.
In District 1 it will be Jarrett Bundy and Kim Jirik; in District 6 it will be Kristin Zorn and Jessica Reinhardt; and in District 7, Linsey Larson is running unopposed.
