The Babbitt city council discussed the Babbitt Ely Tower Ambulance Service life jacket loaner box project at the July 16 meeting.
Mayor Duane Lossing thanked those who have donated so far:
• Babbitt School and Ryan Lindsay for building the boxes.
• Ely Bloomington Community Hospital for donating 150 life jackets at $20 each.
• Pohaki Lumber for lumber for the five boxes.
• Fireman’s Relief of Tower donating $1,000.
• Ely-Winton Rod and Gun Club donation $1,000.
• Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd, $400 donation.
• Babbitt Golf Association, a $500 donation.
• K&M Industrial donating materials, up to $867.87.
• Matt Littler donating time and the logo.
• Jay Foltz Contracting donating time building the boxes
• Dirty Dog Manufacturing is giving a 20% discount screen printing.
“So kudos to everybody,” said Lossing. “This is such a great thing, I think Rebecca Littler was the one that brought this forward to us and was spearheading this. And just a really great thing for our community. And so kudos to all these people that stepped up and donated time and money and to the people that have been pushing this along.”
