Veterans Rummage Sale will be open this Saturday, Oct. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the back building of the Municipal Center at 71 South Drive. This will be the last sale until spring.
The Fall Harvest Festival for Hope Lutheran Church in Embarrass will be held Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Raffle, luncheon, baked and canned goods.
The Annual Harvest Party at Babbitt Assembly of God Church is back inside on Thursday, Oct. 31 5:30-7 p.m. A free hot dog meal will be served. Kids, teens and families are invited to stop by and play some quick easy Bible based games, Win candy, take selfies at the photo booth. This will be a safe warm family friendly environment especially for families with preschoolers. Let’s please have positive costumes for this event.
At the Babbitt Library on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 1:30 p.m. will be the program How to Say North with Bart and Ross Sutter. The Sutter Brothers presents a program that blends poems from Bart’s new book, Cotton Grass, with Ross’ versions of songs and tunes from the American, Celtic, & Scandinavian folk traditions. Best known for his singing, Ross also plays guitar, button accordion, dulcimer and Irish drum. A three-time winner of the MN Book Award, Bart has given hundreds of readings and had four plays produced. Come hear The Sutter Brothers offer praise for a farm wife famous for kindness and butchering chickens, ragtime lyrics for a river otter, an original hymn to Lake Superior, & much more about our region.
