Cliff Pechacek

Cliff Pechacek of Ely, formerly of Owatonna, passed away June 13, 2024. He was born in Owatonna on April 26, 1944 to Frank and Evelyn Pechacek. On October 28, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart Joyce Voll, they were Owatonna residents until 1970 when he Joyce and their daughters moved to Ely. He worked at Reserve Mining until it closed, then worked at the International Wolf Center, the job he loved, he also worked at Ely Bloomenson Hospital. 

He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his sons and loved watching College Football especially Notre Dame Sports, and Western movies. Cliff’s favorite hobbies were working outside in the yard, gardening, and reading, but most of all spending time with his family. 

Survivors include his wife Joyce, daughters Kim (Mike) Gheen, Tammy (Mike) Velcheff, sons Chris (Amber) Pechacek all of Ely, and Scott (Marcia) Pechacek of Rush City, MN. Grandchildren Casey Velcheff, Shianne Gheen, Jerod Gheen, and Kelsey Velcheff all of Ely, a special sister-in-law Karen Voll of Ely, brother-in-law Arnie Beyer of Owatonna, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Vern of Owatonna, brother-in-law Mel Voll, nephew Kevin Voll, niece Shelley Voll, brother-in-law Roger (Jeanne) Voll, sister-in-law Judy Beyer all of Owatonna. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Friday, Dr. Jessica Lahta, Dr. Wilt and Dr. Montana, the hospital staff and hospice care for their outstanding care. 

Per, his wishes there will be no service. Family arrangements have been entrusted with Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia, MN
