She was born on May 7, 1946 in Pierre, SD to Marvin and Doris (Hilmer) Voss. On February 7, 1964 she married Gary Starkman in Deadwood, SD.

Survivors include her husband Gary; two sons, Michael and Dan; two grandchildren, Dylan and Danica; and four siblings, Patricia, Linda, Robin and Roy.

Private services will be held and burial will be in White I ron C emetery. A rrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
