ROBERT CHARLES RANDALL

ROBERT CHARLES RANDALL

ROBERT CHARLES RANDALL, or “Bob” as he was affectionately known, passed away at the age of 86 on January 21, 2024 after a lengthy battle with dementia and colon cancer. He was born on August 18, 1937, in Mankato, MN, to the late Verne and Beatrice Randall. Bob was a cherished father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Scott Randall (Esteban Rey), Brett Randall (Rachel), and his grandchildren, Robert and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Margaret “Marge” Randall.

After graduating from Mankato State University, Bob served in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged on August 17, 1958. Following his military service, Bob rrs worked for the Food and Drug Administration, which he then followed with a lengthy career as a chemist for the Environmental Protection Agency. Bob Randall worked at the

EPA in Ely for many years and lived in Romberg Acres.

Bob and Marge were married in Minnesota, but spent most of their family life in Oregon, rrs in Corvallis and later on the coast in Newport, where they literally built their house from the ground up together. Bob had more tools than anyone can possibly imagine, all meticulously organized and labeled. He could x anything at any time, and was always willing to lend a hand. Bob served as the Scoutmaster for both of his sons, and it brought him much joy to see them each attain the rank of Eagle Scout. Bob and Marge were active members of Atonement Lutheran Church, and Bob spent his retirement doing the things he loved - sailing, riding his Harley Davidson down the Oregon highway, and, above all, being with his family.

Bob Randall will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his passion for science. His attention to detail, wisdom, and sharp wit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date to scatter Bob and Marge’s ashes together at sea off the coast of Oregon, per their request. In lieu of oowers, please direct any memorials to organizations funding awareness and innovative research in dementia-related diseases, such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Bright Focus Foundation, or The Lewy Body Dementia Association.
