Lorena Mae (Swieringa) Loushin

Lorena Mae (Swieringa) Loushin, 84, passed away at her home in Ely, MN on Friday, December 23rd, 2022.

Lorena was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Emma  (Simonson) and George Swieringa on 07-03-1938.  She attended Embarrass High School.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane (Dale) Whiting, Jeannette (Jeff) Potter, Cindy Loushin, granddaughter Jenna Lorena Potter and grandson, Tyler Ray Potter.

Sister Bea Ruoho (the late Ray Ruoho), brothers Bruce (June) Swieringa and Eugene (Monica) Swieringa and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lorena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank John Loushin, son Brian Frank Loushin and brother George (Aija) Swieringa.

Lorena (Rena) retired from Dr. Scott and Dr. Beer’s dental office in 2006.

Rena loved cookbooks, crocheting, baking bread and spending time with her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
