NOTICE AND ORDER FOR HEARING ON PETITION FOR DESCENT OF PROPERTY

 

A Petition for Determination of Descent has been filed with this Court. The Petition represents that the Decedent died more than three years ago, leaving property in Minnesota and requests the probate of Decedent’s last will, if any, and the descent of such property be determined and assigned by this Court to the persons entitled to the property.

 

Any objections to the Petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper, and no objections are filed or raised, the Petition may be granted.

 

IT IS ORDERED and Notice is further given that the Petition will be heard on April 8, 2024 , at 9:30 a.m. by this Court at 300 S. 5th Avenue, Virginia, Minnesota.

 

* This hearing will be held remotely via Zoom Technology.

Lake County Planning Commission Minutes

February 26, 2024

 

The Lake County Planning Commission sat in session at 5:00 p.m. on this date and conducted hearings and other business.

      The hearing was opened by the Planning and Zoning Administrator with the first order of business being the election of Chair, Vice-chair, and Secretary for the 2024 Planning Commission (PC) term. Motion by Bathke seconded by Unzeitig to nominate Michael Hoops to a one-year appointment for PC Chair. All in favor, none opposed. Motion by Sve seconded by B. Ernest to renew John Bathke to a one-year appointment as PC Vice-Chair. All in favor, none opposed. Motion by Hoops seconded by Bathke to nominate Planning and Zoning personnel as Secretary. All in favor, none opposed. Nominations carried.

     I-24-002i– Motion by Unzeitig supported by J. Ernest to recommend to County Board 1-year approval with conditions of an initial interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Virginia Jensen on property described as: Lot 7, in Section 28, Township 063, Range 11; 2.5 acres, zoned shoreland, RR/Residential-Recreational District, 1-acre minimum, Fall Lake Township. PID 28-6376-28070. Motion carried; Hoops, Sve, Bathke, Unzeitig, J. Ernest, B. Ernest and Ellefson voting in favor; none opposed. (PCR-24-002)

      Motion by Sve supported by Bathke to approve the April 27, June 26, July 17, July 26, August 28, and September 18, 2023, minutes with corrections. Motion carried, Hoops, Sve, Bathke, Unzeitig, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, and Ellefson voting in favor, none opposed.

Motion Bathke by supported by Sve to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried; Hoops, Sve, Bathke, Unzeitig, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, and Ellefson voting in favor, none opposed. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAND USE ORDINANCE OF LAKE COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

Public Hearing Notice

 

The Ely Board of Adjustment will be holding a public hearing for considering a Variance on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the City Hall council chambers.  At this public hearing the Board of Adjustment will be considering the approval of a Variance Application submitted by Paul Myers, representing All Phase Construction; located at 255 Camp St W Parcel# 030-0500-00050. The applicant is seeking a Variance from the rear and corner side yard setback requirements in Industrial Zoning. The current minimum setback requirements for corner side yard and rear yard are 15 feet. The Applicant is requesting zero feet setback on both the rear yard and corner side yard, to construct a building for vehicles and equipment related to the construction business.

 

Public comment will be heard on the date of the hearing and/or may be submitted to any of the following addresses below before March 15th to be included in the public hearing. Names and addresses must be submitted in order for comments to be recorded into the hearing minutes.

The county auditor must include the name of the major political party whose ballot the voter requested with the voting history of the nomination primary election. The major political party ballot selected by a nomination primary voter is private data, except that it will be shared with the chairs of the major political parties in the State of Minnesota.

Assistant Girls’ Track Coach

 

Ely Public Schools is looking for an Assistant Girls’ Track Coach for the 2024 spring season. Background check required.

 

Qualifications include:      

          •      Bachelor’s Degree preferred;

          •      Previous coaching experience preferred;

          •      Must be available for several practices/meets per week from March through June, including some weekends and during school break periods.

 

Desired skills include:

          •      Demonstrate knowledge in all aspects of the sport and convey knowledge at an appropriate level to the athletes involved, supporting head coach in running well organized and effective practices.

          •      Work effectively with other programs and personnel, including effective communication with players, parents, administrators, faculty and school staff and the media.

          •      Work in support of the department’s and school’s mission.

          •      Represent the school in a positive manner among alumni, supporters and external agencies.

          •      Maintain compliance with MSHSL requirements.

          •      Enforce and model proper standards of sportsmanship.

          •      Work with and support head coach as directed.
