NOTICE OF AND ORDER FOR HEARING ON PETITION FOR FORMAL ADJUDICATION OF INTESTACY, DETERMINATION OF HEIRS, FORMAL APPOINTMENT OF PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

 

It is Ordered and Notice is given that on March 4, 2024 at 9:30 a.m., a hearing will be held in this Court at the St. Louis County Court House, Virginia, Minnesota, on a petition for the adjudication of intestacy and determination of decedent’s heirs, and for the appointment of Ted Buskirk, whose address is 7954 Pulkinen Rd, Embarrass, MN 55732 as Personal Representative of the decedent’s estate in an unsupervised administration. * This hearing will be held remotely via Zoom Technology.

 

Any objections to the petition must be raised at the hearing or filed with the Court prior to the hearing. If the petition is proper and no objections are filed or raised, the personal representative will be appointed with the full power to administer the decedent’s estate, including the power to collect all assets; to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes, and expenses; to sell real and personal property; and to do all necessary acts for the decedent’s estate.

 

Notice is further given that, subject to Minn. Stat. § 524.3-801, all creditors having claims against the decedent’s estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court within four (4) months after the date of this notice or the claims will be barred.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for Ely Public School Window Replacement will be addressed and delivered to ISD #696 - Ely Public Schools, 600 East Harvey Street, Ely, MN 55731, Attn: Anne Oelke.

Plans, Specifications and Proposal Forms as prepared by Widseth, 126 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN 55802, (218) 727-8481, are available from the Architect’s office either in electronic form at no cost or in hard copy form for a non-refundable fee for the cost of reproduction. Plans and Specifications may be reviewed at the offices of the Architect, the Owner, and the Minnesota Builders Exchange.

 

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or bidder’s bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the Owner; as provided in the specifications, said check and the amount thereof or the amount of the bidder’s bond to be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder furnishing the same neglects or refuses to promptly carry out said bid or enter into contract with Ely Public Schools.

 

No bids may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days from the scheduled closing time for receiving bids.

 

The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or parts of bids and to waive informalities therein, and to award the contract to other than the lowest bid¬der if in their discretion the interests of the Owner will be best served thereby.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

 

City of Ely ANIMAL LICENSES for 2024 for your dog are now available!

 

Licenses are required by City Ordinance No. 372, 2nd Series and can be purchased at the Police Department in City Hall, 209 E Chapman St, Ely MN 55731. The Application and information can be found at www.ely.mn.us/police

 

Annual license term runs January 1st - December 31st and a lifetime license has no expiration date. A dog license is required for any dog three (3) months of age or older. All licensed dogs shall wear a collar and have a tag firmly affixed thereto evidencing a current license when outside. Multi-Animal Dwelling Permit is required for more than a combination of six(6) dogs, cats or other household pets (excluding caged pets) and may denied or canceled at the discretion of the City of Ely.

 

Annual License fee is $10.00 or $35.00 for a lifetime license.

Multi-Animal Dwelling Permit is $100.00 (permit is valid for 5 years)

 

Please bring a certificate of current rabies immunization from your veterinarian for each animal.

Paraprofessional

 

Ely Public School District is looking for a paraprofessional starting in the Memorial/Washington building for the 2023-2024 school year. We are an EC - Grade 12 district, seeking an energetic, self-starting, personable, and highly motivated individual. Background check required.

 

Required Qualifications:

       •    High School graduate or equivalent and one of the following:

       o    Associate of Arts Degree, or

       o    Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education, or

       o    Passing the ParaPro assessment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

       •    Previous experience in working with children, preferably students with disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or attention difficulties.
