It is Ordered and Notice is given that on March 18, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. a hearing will be held in this Court at 300 5th Ave. S. Virginia, Minnesota, for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the Will of Decedent, dated June 30, 2015, under Minn. Stat. 524.2-513 ("Will"), and for the appointment of Charles Edwin Dawson whose address is 512 Chapeze Lane, Shepherdsville, KY 40165, as personal representative of the Estate of the Decedent in an unsupervised administration. Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper and if no objections are filed or raised, the personal representative will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate, including the power to collect all assets, pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and do all necessary acts for the Estate.

Notice is also given that (subject to Minn. Stat. 524.3-801) all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.

The Lake County Board of Adjustment sat in session at 1:00 p.m. on this date and conducted hearings and other business.

 

V-24-002 – Motions by Hoops supported by Fogelberg to deny the request for relief from the shoreline structure setback for after-the-fact structures including a fish cleaning covered deck, firewood storage, and the proposed extension of deck and roof. Motions by Hoops supported by Fogelberg to approve the request as submitted for relief from the shoreline structure setback for the after-the-fact structure for a kayak shed. Motion by Hoops supported by Fogelberg to approve the request with conditions for relief from the shoreline structure setback for the after-the fact sauna. Motion by Hippert supported by Fogelberg to approve the request with conditions for relief from the shoreline structure setback for the after-the-fact structure for a porch addition and conversion. Filed by Robert and Melissa Acton. School Board Meeting Minutes January 8, 2024 (Board Approved 2-12-24)

 

1.0 The regular meeting of the School Board of Independent School District No. 696 was called to order in the Board Meeting Room at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Marsnik.

2.0 On roll call the following directors were present: Westlund, Coombe, Colarich, Sjoberg, Marsnik. Absent: Omerza. Also in attendance: Anne Oelke, Superintendent/PreK-5 Principal; Tim Leeson, Transportation and Facilities Director; Tom Coombe, The Ely Echo; Catie Clark, Timberjay.

4.0 Election of Officers:

   4.a. Colarich nominated Ray Marsnik for the position of Board Chairperson. There were no further nominations. Ray Marsnik was the only candidate nominated for the office of Chair, Chairman Marsnik declared himself elected by acclamation and directed the acting clerk to so record in the minutes.

   4.b. Coombe nominated Rochelle for the position of Board Clerk. There were no further nominations. Rochelle Sjoberg was the only candidate nominated for the office of Clerk, Chairman Marsnik declared her elected by acclamation and directed the acting clerk to so record in the minutes.

   4.c Colarich nominated Tom Omerza for the position of Board Treasurer. There were no further nominations. Tom Omerza was the only candidate nominated for the office of Treasurer, Chairman Marsnik declared him elected by acclamation and directed the clerk to so record in the minutes.

      8.a.6. Designated Spencer Aune, Finance Manager and Jordan Huntbatch, Payroll, Benefits & Finance Coordinator, as district staff to conduct electronic fund transfers.

      8.a.7. Approved 2024 IRS standard mileage rate for reimbursement for school district travel during 2024 (67 cents per mile).

      8.a.8. Established school board compensation levels for 2024: (Current rate of inflation is 3.1%) Rates for 2024 with a 3.1% increase would be as follows: $230 per month plus life insurance ($30,000) for directors and $296 per month plus life insurance ($30,000) for the Board Chairperson and an additional $66 per board member for monthly study session.

      8.a.9. Adopted Resolution Directing the Administration to Make Recommendations for Reductions in Programs and Positions and Reasons Therefor.

      8.a.10. Approved 2024 RAMS Membership dues in the amount of $1,500.00.

      8.a.11. Approved revised Staff Development Committee Plan.

      8.a.12. Approved the minutes of the regular meeting of December 11, 2023.

      8.a.13. Approved the minutes of the study session of December 18, 2023.

      8.a.14. Approved December 2023 receipts in the amount of $870,273.66 and disbursements in the amount of $1,243,988.86.

SUBJECT:   Public Hearing Notice

 

The Ely Board of Adjustment will be holding a public hearing for considering a Variance on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the City Hall council chambers.  At this public hearing the Board of Adjustment will be considering the approval of a Variance Application submitted by Paul Myers, representing All Phase Construction; located at 255 Camp St W Parcel# 030-0500-00050. The applicant is seeking a Variance from the rear and corner side yard setback requirements in Industrial Zoning. The current minimum setback requirements for corner side yard and rear yard are 15 feet. The Applicant is requesting zero feet setback on both the rear yard and corner side yard, to construct a building for vehicles and equipment related to the construction business.

 

Public comment will be heard on the date of the hearing and/or may be submitted to any of the following addresses below before March 15th to be included in the public hearing. Names and addresses must be submitted in order for comments to be recorded into the hearing minutes.

The Ely Board of Adjustment will be holding a public hearing for considering a Variance on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the City Hall council chambers.  At this public hearing the Board of Adjustment will be considering the approval of a Variance Application submitted by Paul Myers, representing All Phase Construction; located at 255 Camp St W Parcel# 030-0500-00050. The applicant is seeking a Variance from the rear and corner side yard setback requirements in Industrial Zoning. The current minimum setback requirements for corner side yard and rear yard are 15 feet. The Applicant is requesting zero feet setback on both the rear yard and corner side yard, to construct a building for vehicles and equipment related to the construction business.

 

Public comment will be heard on the date of the hearing and/or may be submitted to any of the following addresses below before March 15th to be included in the public hearing. Names and addresses must be submitted in order for comments to be recorded into the hearing minutes.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON A REQUEST FOR

AN INTERIM USE PERMIT ON PROPERTY IN LAKE COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

 

Notice is hereby given that the Lake County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing to make a recommendation to the Lake County Board of Commissioners on February 26, 2024 at 5:15 P.M. in the Law Enforcement Center, 613 Third Avenue, Two Harbors, MN 55616 at which time interested parties shall have the opportunity to discuss the granting of the following request:
