Doris K. Adamic, 94, of Ely died October 21, 2022.
She was born in Hibbing, MN to John and Righetta (Vitali) Pagliaccetti on March 13, 1928. She graduated from Chisholm High School in 1946. She was employed as a secretary in the Chisholm schools until she married Gerald (Bud) Adamic on August 28, 1948. They lived in St. Cloud, MN until 1950, then resided in Mahnomen, MN until 1956. In 1956 they moved to Ely, MN where she and Bud resided until their deaths. She and Bud also resided in Mesa, AZ in the winter months from 1981-2010.
She was a kind, loving, gentle woman with the most infectious smile. Doris was a charter member of the Ely Community Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she served as a Cup Minister.
She was employed by the Ely Echo as a receptionist and bookkeeper from 1971-75. She then worked for the State of Minnesota for 15 years at the Unemployment office.
She loved to golf, sew, read, do puzzles and play poker and bridge. She and Bud enjoyed going to the casino. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children: Geraldine (Frank) Lahti of Sun City West, AZ, Barbara (Randy) Neumann of Osakis, MN and Martina (David) Jarecki of Duluth, MN, and daughter-in-law Deb (Joel) Adamic of Stillwater, MN. Grandchildren Jody, Danielle, Joleen, Derek, Sean, Sara, John, Lee, Carrie, Lauren, Meghan, Madlyn, Kayla, Tyler and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved brother John (Loretta) Pagliaccetti.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald (Bud) Adamic, son Joel Adamic, infant daughter Mary Elizabeth, infant son John David, sister Vera Kautto, sister Lydia Dukich, parents John and Righetta Pagliaccetti.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely with visitation one hour prior.
Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
