At the Ely Public Library on Monday, May 13 at 3 p.m. will be the Friends of the Library Book Club. Title for discussion this month is Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. You do not need to be a member of Friends of the Library to attend.
The Ely Weavers and Fibers group will meet on Monday, May 13, at 11:30 a.m. at the Grand Ely. Join them for lunch, sharing their latest projects and helpful ideas.
Are interested in weather? The City of Ely will be hosting a SKYWARN class May 14 at 6 p.m. This two-hour class is hosted by the National Weather Service and is free of charge. This class will be hosted at Ely City Hall (209 E. Chapman St.) in the council chambers.
At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, May 16 at 1 p.m. will be the program: Get Crafty: Bath Scrubbies. This month, Tricia will be teach how to make your own bath scrubby. Using tulle and thread, come learn how to do this fun DIY craft. All materials are supplied. You will need to pre-register. This program is for adults.
The public is invited to a screening of the movie Israelism at the Ely State Theatre, on Tuesday, May 14 at 6 pm. Presented by Northern Progressives and the Ely Palestine Solidarity Group as part of an educational series “Understanding Gaza 101.” The event is open to the public. Organizers are asking attendees for a donation that evening, in lieu of a ticket fee, to Doctors Without Borders, one of the few aid groups still providing humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Studio North presents its annual spring recital on Saturday, May 18 at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Washington Auditorium. Advance tickets available at Studio North, 1550 E. Washington St., Ely or at the door.
A Bake Sale, May 18 from 9 a.m.-noon has been scheduled for the Ely Senior Center.
The next gathering of the Ely chapter of Braver Angels will take place on Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Center.
