Duluth Transit Authority, the Midwest’s largest Chicago tribute band, returns to Ely’s Historic State Theater on Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. (doors open 6:30 p.m.). Come out after Prom Grand March for a fantastic night of music from the greatest era of rock-n-roll as DTA plays the best of Chicago classics and deep cuts. Tickets: $25 at www.elystatetheater. org or at the door. Concessions include $7 taps, $8 mixed drinks, popcorn, soda, candy and more.
Junior-Senior Prom at Ely Memorial High School will be held on Saturday, April 27. The Grand March will be from 5-6 p.m. in Washington Auditorium.
The 100 Ely Women Who Care giving circle will hold its spring meeting at the Ely Senior Center (27 S. 1st ave. E., Ely) on Sunday, April 28 starting at 4 p.m. The giving circle is a group of women who gather together to collectively support a nominated and then voted on local non-profit group twice each year and enjoy a potluck of appetizers and desserts.
The topic for the next Braver Angels gathering will be abortion. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 with an introduction for first time attendees at 6 p.m., at the Ely Senior Center.
At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, May 2 at 1 p.m. there will be a Curiosity Cohort: Heraldry a program for adults. Join the library’s curiosity cohort and learn about a different topic each month. Learn about the components in a traditional coat of arms and then design one for yourself. You will need to register in advance for this program. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
The next meeting of P.E.O. International Chapter FD of Ely will be held on Thursday, May 2. Social time will start at 6:30 p.m. and the business meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in EBCH Conference Room. Please call program chair Candy Schindele, 612-703-0379, with questions.
Join in for a time of prayer and worship at the 73rd annual
National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 2 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Ely Senior Center, 27 S. 1st Ave. E.
Commencement at Minnesota North College, Vermilion will be held on Wednesday, May 8. The ceremony in Vermilion’s gymnasium begins at 7 p.m.
