Ely tree mulching event set for April 20

City of Ely/Ely Tree Board’s annual City of Ely Tree Mulching Event will be held on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m.- noon.

Volunteers are needed to help mulch the boulevard trees in Ely. Meet at 9 a.m. at Whiteside Park for instructions etc. All materials will be provided for the project. Mulching event to last until noon.

Free food and refreshments will be provided to all volunteers (provided by the Friends of the Trees of Ely).

“This is a wonderful event to help the Ely community keep our boulevard trees healthy!” said Tree Board member Claudia McBride. “So important for this year as we may be facing very dry conditions and the mulching helps maintain moisture.”

Incredible Ely will be hosting an overall community spring clean-up that same day “This is a great opportunity to meet up with neighbors and others to help our city look beautiful!” said McBride.
