Ten medals for End of the Road archers

Ely’s End of the Road Archers had their best performance yet - earning 10 medals - at a March 2 tournament at Mt. Iron.

Both Ely’s elementary and middle school groups had second-place team finishes at the event, while Via DeBeltz, Laydan Hart and Ryker Russ came home with individual third-place showings.

The 10 medals won was the most for an Ely team and the squad also had 15 archers in the top-10 and 23 new personal-bests.

DeBeltz scored her third place finish in high school 3D with a score of 284, and Hart collected 282 points to take third among middle school boys. Russ was third among fourth-grade boys at 254.

Ely fourth-place finished went to DeBeltz (high school girls, bullseye, 282) and Aspen MacCoy (fifth grade girls, 3D, 218).

Collecting fifths were Sabrah Hart (high school girls, 3D 208), Owen Kurnava (fifth grade boys, 3D, 238), Russ (fourth grade boys, 3D, 214), Abby DeNio (fourth grade girls, 3D, 195) and Payson Kundinger (middle school girls, bullseye, 270).

Ely’s elementary team was third in bullseye and the middle school team placed fourth.

Ely tournament sponsors were Weisinger Construction and Boundary Waters Hardscapes who helped cover the $677 in costs to take part in the event.
