Northwoods Partners Caregiver Support Group meets the third Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. to noon at the Ely Senior Center.

The Knights of Columbus sponsored Lenten Fish Fry Dinners will be held on Fridays from March 1-22 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely.

At the Ely Public Library on Saturday, March 2 starting at 1:30 p.m. there will be a Harry Potter event for adults and teens (grades nine and up).

Ely Memorial High School is hosting the MSHSL 7A - North Section Music Contest on March 4 (instrumental competition) and March 5 (choral competition). These are happening at the school all day on those days.

Ely PTO strawberries will be ready for pickup one day only on Wednesday, March 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ely Senior Center. They will have extra strawberries for sale.

At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, March 7 at 1 pm the program will be Get Crafty: DIY Eucalyptus Shower Melts. This month, Tricia will be teaching how to make eucalyptus shower melts. Using household items like cornstarch and essential oils, come learn how to do this craft to keep you breathing well all season long. All materials are supplied. You will need to pre-register so there will be enough supplies for everyone. This program is for adults.

At the Ely Public Library on Friday, March 8 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. there will be a Breakout Box event for students grades five through eight.

The Ely Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a High School Job Fair on Thursday, March 7, from 8:15-9:30 a.m. at the Ely High School Commons. Set-up at 8:05 a.m. Northeast Range will also attend the event. To register for the job fair, contact Eva at [email protected] or 218-365-6123.

A Wolf Predation Meeting will be held at the Timber Hall Event Center in Embarrass on Saturday, March 9 at 6 p.m. This meeting is sponsored by Hunters4Hunters.org. The guest speaker will be whitetail deer expert Steve Porter.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be going in the Media Center from March 11-15, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with later hours, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., on Thursday evening.

Who is St. Urho, what is St. Urho’s Day and why is it celebrated in northern Minnesota and not the country of Finland? Find out at History Happy Hour on Wednesday, March 13 from 5-5:30 p.m. in the Lookout Lounge at the Boathouse Brewpub & Restaurant. This event is free and open to the public. This program is a collaboration between the Ely Heritage Preservation Commission and the Dorothy Molter Museum with hosting by the Boathouse and support from Boundary Waters Connect.

The Ely Memorial High School spring music concert has been scheduled for March 19 at 7 p.m.
