Middle-schoolers win archery crown

Ely is home to another archery champion.

The latest victory for Ely’s End of the Road Archers came for Ely’s middle- schoolers, who won the Region 2 Bullseye championship last weekend.

Team members are: Abby DeNio, Ari Hart, Aspen MacCoy, Charlie Hway, Coco Gillson, Elam Moran, Eve Chase, Garen Weisinger, Gordon Smith, Hayden Weidemann, Jenna Bermel, Kaelyn Puzel, Liam Kurnava, Mason Lee, Owen Kurnava, Payson Kundinger, Ryann Schlosser, Ryker Hart, Sawyer Kannas and Trynn Weisinger., Weidemann had a perfect 50-point performance at the regional event while medalists included Laydan Hart (280, third place), DeNio (253, fourth), Chase (246, fourth) and Kannas (256, fifth).

Personal bests went to DeNio, Ari Hart, Blake Houde, Moran, Chase, Lee and Kannas.

In 3D competition, at the MIB 3D Tournament, Kannas was third with a 266 while Sabrah Hart (273) and Kundinger (254) got fourths. The Ely archers scoring personal bests were Ari Hart, Houde, Schlosser, Kannas and Weisinger.
