A former Ely Timberwolf completed her first season of college basketball.
Sarah Visser was a reserve for Iowa Lakes, an NJCAA Division II program located in Estherville.
Visser, a former All-Arrowhead Conference honoree for the Timberwolves, appeared in all 31 games for the Lakers this winter.
She played about 12 minutes per game, averaging 1.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest.
Visser also had 40 assists and 52 steals while making the transition from high school to college basketball.
Notable performances included four assists in January wins over the Waldorf JV and Southwestern.
Visser, a multi-year starter for the Wolves, racked up numerous program records during the course of her career while setting Ely standards for rebounds (1,031), steals (484) and assists (437). She was an all-conference honoree and helped the Wolves to three straight appearances in the Section 7A semifinals.
She also was a setter for the Wolves’ state consolation champion volleyball team and a standout in track as well, qualifying for state competition.
