Iron Mosquitos FRC 5653 alliance scored 218 points in their second match last weekend, just four points from the world record. Ryan Lindsay said, “The team performed well, placing fifth in the playoffs after being selected on the 8th seed alliance. We had seven wins and five losses after playoffs. A highlight was our match on Saturday where we were the top coral scoring robot on an alliance that set the high score for the tournament. It was four points from the current world record of 222 so far this season. We also won the Gracious Professionalism award which speaks really well of our students. The team will take a day off and then start improving for our competition in New Orleans in April. We will have a practice field at Babbitt School March 21-23 if anyone would like to see the robot in action. Contact the team at [email protected].”

A GIRLS NIGHT OUT was held on Saturday in Babbitt with gift basket prizes, coupons, baked goods, jewelry, candles and skin care. Vendors included Northern Lights Tanning, Heart Hands Massage Therapy, Jada with Northern Lights Salon & Spa,Chasing All Wild Things, Grateful Hearts Family Kitchen and Pure North Creations. Every visitor received a free prize of choice donated by these small, female owned businesses.
