Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL-Hermantown) testified in the Senate Subcommittee on Veterans in support of legislation that would help Ely’s Veterans on the Lake resort.
“Every single Minnesotan should have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors our state has to offer, but that is especially true for our disabled veterans who have sacrificed so much serving our country,” said Hauschild. “Thankfully, Veterans on the Lake has stepped up to create barrier-free opportunities, thanks to staff and facilities that are equipped to support the unique needs of veterans and individuals with disabilities.”
Hauschild’s bills would provide $100,000 over the next two years to support Veterans on the Lake with expenses related to veterans retreats, including therapy, transportation and $200,000 for a grant to fund repairs of Veterans on the Lake septic system.
