There will be a Community Kitchen on Feb. 15 from , 5-6:30 p.m. at LedgeRock Community Church, 1515 E. Camp Street. These are held on the Saturday of the month. Come anytime during those hours. There is no cost for the meal.

At the Ely Public Library on Tuesday, Feb 18 at 3 p.m. –

Hey, It’s a Holiday: National Engineers Week – for all ages. Join Jessie to learn about what engineers do as the library celebrates Engineers Week. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

The next Braver Angels gathering will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. at Minnesota North Vermilion classroom 109. Braver Angels explores patriotic topic on Tuesday, “Saying the Pledge Of Allegiance.” The Ely Alliance of Braver Angels will explore the highly current topic of where and when to say the Pledge of Allegiance. A brief introduction of the history of the Pledge of Allegiance will be presented. The large group will then break into smaller groups to discuss this topic and other expressions of patriotism. They will work together in the spirit of listening and being listened to without the pressure of trying to convince each other or change each other’s mind. Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation or to listen and observe. As always, there will be an abundance of cookies and beverages. The goal is to learn how to disagree without being disagreeable.

The February meeting of Ely P.E.O. Chapter FD will be held on Feb. 20 at the Ely Community Health Center, 33 East Chapman Street. Social time will start at 12:30 p.m. with the business and program to follow. Visiting members are welcome. Please call program chair Katie Kopp-Nelson, 952-250-7599, with any questions.

At the Ely Public Library on Friday, Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m.; 6:45 p.m.; 9:30 p.m. – Teen Breakout Boxes – for kids in grade 5-8. Is there a middle schooler in your life that has the winter blahs? This event will give them the excitement of solving puzzles and riddles to get inside the mystery box (like an escape room but trying to open a box rather than escape the room). The giant “ball o prizes” may also make an appearance… You will need to register in advance for this program. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Ely Public Library.

The WolfTrack Classic dog sled race event will start with the WolfTrack Prance on Friday, Feb. 21, 4-7 p.m. at the Grand Ely Lodge. A special Prance menu from 4-6 p.m. Live music from Bernie Palcher from 5-7 p.m. Meet the teams on Saturday, Feb, 22, 3-5 p.m. at the Vermilion Campus - classroom parking area. The Musher all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 4-7 p.m. at the Vermilion Campus cafeteria. The cost will be $10/adult, discounts for youth and students. Race Day will be Sunday, Feb. 23, 9 a.m. start time at the Ely Softball Complex.

Sisu Heritage, Inc. will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Embarrass Town Hall. The guest speaker will be Crystal Schlueter, recipe creator and contest winner. Embarrass Town Hall is located at 7503 Levander Rd. Please call 218-984-3402 with any questions.

The Ely Film Festival, showcasing the work and creativity of independent filmmakers from Minnesota and around the world, returns March 13-16.

Cribbage is being played at the Zenith Apartments at 965 E. Camp St in Ely on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. Join in, have fun. Bring your own snacks.
