Archers compete at Northwoods

The End of the Road Archers joined 14 area schools in the season opening tournament at North Woods Schools in Cook on Jan. 11.

In the program archers compete individually and, with specific requirements, and can also compete as a team. The End of the Road Archers, for the first time, had met the requirements to compete as a team in all three divisions for the 3D Tournament. Not only did the Ely middle school bring home the gold, but all teams placed in the top four. In addition Ely competitors racked up 15 career personal bests and 11 individual medals (top five finish).

3D results: High school team – 1585 – fourth place Middle school team – 1508 – first place Elementary team – 1211 – third place Sabrah Hart – 283 – second place high school girls Laydan Hart – 281 – second place high school boys Hayden Weidemann – 280 – first place middle school boys Payson Kundinger – 268 – second place middle school girls Sawyer Kannas – 230 – fifth place fifth grade boys Eve Chase – 192 – fourth place fourth grade girls Kundinger shot a perfect 50 at the turkey.

Personal bests: Elam Moran, Laydan Hart, Sabrah Hart, Sawyer Kannas, Taylor Hren and Trynn Weisinger.

Bullseye results: Middle school team – 2924 – third place Laydan Hart – 283 – third place high school boys Hayden Weidemann – 281 – second place middle school boys Payson Kundinger – 274 – second place middle school girls Sawyer Kannas – 248 – fourth place fifth grade boys Eve Chase – 214 – fourth place fourth grade girls Personal bests: Charlie Hway, Gordon Smith, Hayden Weidemann, Laydan Hart, Owen Kurnava, Ryann Schlosser, Sawyer Kannas, Taylor Hren and Trynn Weisinger
