First Dark Sky Festival in Ely set for Jan. 10-11

Get ready to experience the magic of the night sky and winter recreation at the inaugural Ely Dark Sky Festival on Jan. 10-11.

This two-day event features a variety of activities from astronomy and photography workshops to night snowshoe hikes and educational presentations.

With minimal light pollution, the BWCAW is a designated International Dark Sky Sanctuary, making the Ely area an ideal location for a dark sky festival.

Festival highlights:

• Stargazing sessions: Join experienced locals and experts to learn about our northern night sky and constellations.

• Night Photography Workshops and Talks: Learn techniques to capture stunning images of the night sky, including the Milky Way and the Northern Lights.
