The 2024 Peter Mitchell Fun Days Button Design Contest is open for submissions. The circle size should be 2 1/4” in diameter or larger. Artwork wraps around the outside of the button (see dotted line example). No lettering please. All submissions must be received by March 29, at PMFD, P.O. Box 302, Babbitt, MN 55706. Please include your name, address, and phone number on the submission. Extra entry forms are available at the Ely Area Credit Union and at the Babbitt Public Library.
The 50th anniversary of the Babbitt Figure Skating Show will be March 1 at 6 p.m. and March 2 at 1 p.m. at the Ron Castellano Arena A Wolf Predation Meeting will be held at the Timber Hall Event Center in Embarrass on Saturday, March 9 at 6 p.m. This meeting is sponsored by Hunters4Hunters.org. The guest speaker will be whitetail deer expert Steve Porter.
Peter Mitchell Fun Days will be held June 14-16. The date for the Walleye Whamma is June 8.

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) sessions will run through Dec. 21 at the city hall gym. The sessions will be Tuesday morning and Thursday morning for a total of 24 sessions. You may choose the 9 a.m. or the 10:15 a.m. session. SAIL is an exercise program designed for people over 60, and led by a certified SAIL instructor. It is roughly 1/3 cardio fitness for heart health, 1/3 light weight lifting for bone and muscle strength, and 1/3 balance exercise and stretching, to help prevent falls.
