The Rotary Club of Ely will host a “Casino Night” fundraiser and will dedicate all the proceeds to club sponsored Youth Activities.
The Casino Night event is scheduled for Friday, August 16 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the Miner’s Dry Building located at 401 North Pioneer Road, Ely.
The Rotary Club’s Youth Activities include:
• Two high school scholarships.
• Two high school attendees at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp at the U of M - Crookston.
• The high school Interact Club.
• Youth Exchange Program, which is being re-established after a Covid-19 hiatus. (An outbound student will be selected to study abroad for the 2025-26 school year and an inbound student will join the Ely student body in a following year.)
Rotary is an international service club with members in more than 200 countries and the Ely Club understands the value of high school students having an international experience as an important part of their secondary education.
The Casino Night will include three Blackjack tables, a Roulette table and a Texas Hold-Em table. Professional dealers will make the games entertaining and the night will include Wheel of Fortune, Plinko, Last Person Standing, a 50/50 Raffle, Silent Auction and Bucket Raffle.
Heavy appetizers and a cash bar are available. Attendees must be 18 years or older and the event is limited to 333 participants.
Prizes are worth several thousands of dollars including: • A three piece Polywood set of two swivel rocker chairs and an end table valued at $1,649.
• A 55 inch Smart TV.
• Two tickets to the Minnesota Vikings versus Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 12 noon at US Bank Stadium.
• Two tickets to the Minnesota Twins versus Baltimore Orioles game on Saturday, Sept. 29 including an overnight stay at a downtown Minneapolis hotel within easy walking distance of Target Field.
• A $460 gift certificate to the Grand Ely Lodge.
• A 150 quart cooler filled with adult beverages.
• A Unique “One of a Kind“ made in Ely, beanbag toss game complete with an Ely scene painted by prolific Ely artist Cecilia Rolando.
• A large sundial.
• A number of themed baskets.
The cost to participate is $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
