New state record catch & release fish on guided trip

Another new Minnesota state record catch and release fish by the guides at the Ely Fishing Guide Company.

Troy Vega of the Ely Fishing Guide Company guided Xavier Bradley-Rael of Omaha, Nebraska to this trophy.

The fish measured 22.75 inches and was caughtonBasswoodLake on a recent guided trip on June 25.

Bait was supplied from Spirit of the Wilderness Outfitters.

This is the second Minnesota catch and release record by the guides at the Ely fishing guide company. Cam Negley guided the state record northern pike in 2021 that measured 46.25 inches on Basswood Lake.
