Fun in the Park event held during Rock the Park

Dozens of kids searched for the 15 medallions hidden during the Zup’s Fun in the Park event in the Ely Little League field on Saturday night during Rock the Park.
Helping verify the legal drinking age at the Rock the Park event on Saturday night were Ely firefighters Greg Jonas and Kristen Zobitz.
Saturday’s Rock the Park “Closing Time” three-band concert event brought nearly 2,000 visitors to Whiteside Park. The concert was presented by the Ely Events Group.
Digging for treasures in the sawdust pile at the Zup’s Fun in the Park event on Saturday was Emelia Boedeker.

 

Aiden Kochendorfer, age 5, of Ely was lucky enough to find a $50 medallion at the Zup’s Fun in the Park medallion hunt on Saturday night.
Winners of the Zup’s Fun in the Park medallion hunt bicycles were Sophia Huotari and Audrey Baroun.
WINNER of Ely Memorial High School teacher Bill Braun’s paddle was Rick Boo Ellis of Ely. Presenting the paddle was Braun’s daughter, Cecilia Bennett. Braun’s ring and paddle were raffled off with monies going toward scholarships.
Saturday’s Rock the Park event also featured a free watermelon feed sponsored by Zup’s of Ely and Russ Davis Produce. Slicing up watermelon were Steve and Helen Danay. Photos by Eric Sherman. ,
