Big turnout for Ely Sports Hall of Fame Banquet

Over 250 people turned out on Tuesday night for the Ely Sports Hall of Fame Banquet.

The event was held at the Miners Dry building at the historic Pioneer Mine site. 

Inductees were honored by presenters Mike Turnbull, Jim Erzar and Tom Coombe with Nick Wognum emceeing the event. 

In addition to current inductees, members of the Hall of Fame from the 1960s and 1970s were also recognized.

SPORTS HISTORY PRESENTATION - 2001 Ely graduate Reed Petersen was inducted into the sports hall of fame Tuesday and also gave a presentation on Ely’s rich sports history.

IN AS A TEAM - The 1987 Ely football team, which finished second in the State Class B Tournament, was inducted into the Ely Sports Hall of Fame as a team.
