On Wednesday, July 3, the first Nature Nights program of 2024 sponsored by the Ely Field Naturalists will be presented by Tower Area Fisheries Supervisor, Keith Reeves.
Minnesota manages fish by dividing the state into regional fisheries offices and then into local area fisheries field offices.
Fisheries is a Fish and Wild Life Division within the Department of Natural Resources.
Lakes and rivers with fish and wildlife populations are of great interest and value in the Tower area which covers much of the Vermilion Range and Rainy Rivers Headwaters. This program will start off summer in the Arrowhead Region by focusing on stream trout lakes.

Trout may be in large or small lakes and in streams and rivers.

Minnesota North College at 1900 E. Camp Street, Ely, MN hosts this program at its Vermilion Campus in Classroom CL 104 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Reeves will present a slide show and provide information on the ecology, fish and management that make these lakes special.
There will be resources and handouts available including posters of Minnesota Fish.
This program is free with donations to the Ely Field Naturalists welcomed. Join in exploring and learning about life on the Vermilion Range, in the Rainy Rivers Headwaters, north of the Laurentian Divide.
