Letter to the Editor: Bob Braff

…all generalizations are dangerous, even this one

Dear Editor, Fatigue has really hit me hard. I am really tired of drivers who: 1) drive to the transfer station, lake, dump, landfill with their loads uncovered. 2) Have their wipers on but not their lights (a state law). 3) Don’t use turn signals. 4) Tailgate and apparently don’t know the 3-second rule. 5) Unlawfully pass on the right when someone is making a left turn (breaking another law), and 6) talk on their phones while driving.

There are other things that tend to annoy me: 1) the overuse of the word “pristine.” In one of my dictionaries, it states you can replace “pristine” with new, unused or virgin. I laugh at the commercial showing a fishing boat in the “pristine” water harvesting the oil. If there’s a fishing boat in it, the water isn’t “pristine” 2) the name-calling and other bullying tactics being used in political ads, letters, etc. People shouldn’t need to demean others to make their point. 3) Paying “workers” wages and benefits when they don’t do their jobs. I refer to the legislatures (state and federal), who aren’t taking care of the people who gave them the privilege of serving. Many seem to only care about bringing charges against opponents. And 4) people who use generalizations saying all members of a group are bad or good. Remember, all generalizations are dangerous, even this one.
