At the Ely Public Library on Monday, June 24 at 10 a.m. will be Tuey the Juggler, a program for all ages. Tuey goes beyond the usual display of juggling skills to include a wide array of manipulations. From the simplicity of tricks with a 50-cent piece and yoyo, to the complexity of his 10 part combination trick, Tuey runs the gamut, throwing cups about, spinning ropes, balls and rings, and one stunt involving three Nerf arrows, two spinning balls, and the ladder.
At the Ely Public Library on Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. the program will be Preschool Math for ages 2-6. Jessie will teach tots some fun math skills that are geared for young minds. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library The premiere of a video of graduates sharing their memories of Ely Memorial High School will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. at the Ely Historic State Theater. The video is a collection of interviews with 13 graduates who attended Ely Memorial High School from the 1940s through 2024. The video is part of an oral histories project developed by the City of Ely’s Heritage Preservation Commission. The evening’s program will include a discussion of the history of the High School lead by the Ely-Winton Historical Society.
At the Ely Public Library on Friday, June 28 at 2 p.m. there will be a Curiosity Cohort: Face Painting for teens and adults. Please pre-register for this program so there are enough supplies for everyone. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
The Ely Events Group presents two Rock the Park events, June 29 and July 6 in Whiteside Park. Music starts at 4 p.m. each day with three bands performing. Food and beverages will be available. On July 6 there will also be YoungLife’s inflatables for kids along with a sawdust pile, scavenger hunt and free watermelon feed courtesy of Zup’s Food Market.
On Sunday, June 30 as part of the Ely All Class Reunion there will be Shagawa Lake Boat Tours from noon to 4 p.m. starting at Grand Ely Lodge. These are one hour tours with departures every 15 minutes for alumni. Life jackets provided. Weather permitting.
