Ely’s Devine wins academic honors

Zoe Devine of Ely was one of 29 Saint Michael’s College skiers to earn United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team honors for the 2024 season.

Devine, who completed her freshman season at the school located in Colchester, Vermont, was recognized for posting a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade-point average through the most recent semester.

At least 10 Purple Knight student-athletes between both the school’s alpine and Nordic teams have now landed USCSCA honors in 13 consecutive school years.

Devine made the big jump to the collegiate ranks in 2023-24 season after winning a state high school Nordic state title in her senior season at Ely.

As an Ely Timberwolf, Devine was a three-time allstate honoree and a five-time state qualifier.

Devine was also a standout in cross country and track, advancing to state in cross country four times and winning varsity letters in both sports from her seventh-grade season on.
