Chairperson Cathy Chavers was narrowly re-elected in one of two tight elections on the Bois Forte Reservation.
C havers edged challenger Hannah Lehti-Chosa by six votes - 252-246 - in voting conducted Tuesday by the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.
Perry Drift also won by a six-vote margin - 158-152 in a race for the District I (Nett Lake) seat on the Bois Forte Board.
Chavers was outpolled in three of four precincts in same-day voting held Tuesday, winning only in the Vermilion District, but a 6947 edge in absentee ballots put her over the top.
The final percentage was 50.4 for Chavers and 49.2 for Lehti-Chosa with two blank or spoiled ballots.
Drift and Villebrun went to a standoff on Tuesday, but Drift had a 43-37 margin in absentee voting.
Drift captured 50.16 percent of the vote compared to 48.25 for Villebrun, with five blank ballots.
