Annual Kawishiwi Ranger District Interagency Open House June 13
There are two events this week related to land management on dealing with wildfire in the Ely Area.
The U.S. Forest Service invites the public to attend an upcoming Kawishiwi Ranger District interagency open house and a living with fire workshop.
The Kawishiwi Ranger District’s Interagency Open House will be held on the Vermilion campus on June 13 from 4-6 p.m.
Invited partners and agencies include Tower area MN DNR, MN North Vermilion natural resource staff, North St. Louis and Lake County Soil and Water Conservation Districts, St. Louis and Lake Counties, Firewise programs and more.
“We look forward to connecting to folks in the community. This open house event is always a fun time and a good chance to show people what work we are doing. The open house brings people together that are interested in the natural resources around them,” said Aaron Kania, Kawishiwi District Ranger.
In addition, a landowner, land management empowerment event called “Tools for Living with Fire” is being held at Vermilion on June 15. This is a full day event.
