Recently, I received some of the Ely Echo in a package from a local store. As a lover of the printed newspaper, I read those four pages immediately. The editorial by Mr. Coombe entitled "City Hall loses its conscience" was an excellent piece. It made me wish that I had traveled to MN to meet Mr. Whalen before his passing and has inspired me to want to be a more active citizen in my home of Dahlonega, GA. Happy New Year.

I spent a few days in Ely for the Lilypad Picnic. Love the Ely Echo. Loved the town, the Bear Center, Wolf Center. Great food and prices in the restaurants. Great wild rice soup. Great selection of wines in the liquor stores. Will be back next year. Thank you Ely for your hospitality.
