HOW TO SUBMIT NEWS:
The Ely Echo welcomes area news and news tips about people, businesses, organizations and events. Submit by Wednesday by email to: thepub@elyecho.com or bring to: Ely Echo, 15 East Chapman Street, Ely MN 55731 or phone tips to 218-365-3141.
LETTERS TO THE ECHO: Email your letter to: thepub@elyecho.com. Include your name, address and phone number. Write a letter and send it to: Ely Echo, 15 East Chapman St., Ely MN 55731. The Echo reserves the right to edit.
Political letters policy:
Political letters supporting or opposing candidates are considered advertising and will be charged regular advertising rates if accepted for publication.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES:
Suggestions for photo opportunities should be phoned several days in advance to Anne (thepub@elyecho.com) or Nick (elyecho@aol.com) at 365-3141. They will assign a photographer if need be. You may also email them, preferably 3-7 days in advance of the event.
HOW TO SUBMIT ADVERTISING:
Classified ads can be sent to: ads@elyecho.com. Ads for household goods are generally free if 15 words or less and will appear in the North Country Saver for two issues without charge. There is a fee of 20 cents a word for property rentals and sales, and a 20 cents a word fee for businesses such as dog breeding, car dealers, etc.
Saver ads should be received by Tuesday for publication in the next (Saturday) edition. The Saver is a tabloid publication with a page size of 9.6 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Contact the Echo for a rate sheet to be sent to you.
Display advertising can be sent to: ads@elyecho.com. The Echo will design your ad and printed materials for newspaper use and for production of letterheads, brochures, etc. in our print shop.
Or, submit pre-set ad materials via email as PDF files. Include all attachments, files and fonts. Email ad files to: ads@elyecho.com.
Advertising slicks will be scanned, re-set and/or re-sized.
A quarter page display ad in the Echo is generally 5.08 inches wide by 9.5 inches tall and costs $239. Contact the Echo for a rate sheet to be sent to you.
Ely Echo ads should be received by Wednesday for publication in the next (Saturday) edition. The Echo is a broadsheet publication with a page size of 21.25 inches wide and 11.5 inches wide.
Special Echo ads: Birthday ads, sized 3 inches tall by 4.22 inches wide are $20. Thank you ads can also be placed in that size ad. Thank you or memorial ads of less than 20 words are $5.
A business directory ad which is 2.5 inches tall by 1.59 inches wide is $18 per week when run without change for a month.
Inserts can be printed at the Echo or furnished by the client for insertion into any or all of our publications. A single sheet of paper can be inserted for $85/m. Call for details.

Hi, I want to say thank you for the good job you do on the paper. I was born in Ely and lived on Kawishiwi lodge and Wolf Ridge in my time in Ely. I still feel at home when I get to read the Echo. Thanks for making a home away from home.
