Back Hoe Wanted

NOTICE

The City of Ely is requesting proposals for the purchase of a used rubber tire tractor back hoe. Requirements are 2010 or newer, 410 John Deere or equal, with less than 1500 hours.
Sealed proposals will be accepted until 2 pm on July 13th at Ely City Hall 209 East Chapman Street Ely, MN 55731. The City of Ely reserves the right to reject
any and all bids and to award the purchase in the best interests of the City of Ely.

Strategic Planning Session May 8, 2017 (approved 6-12, 2017)

A strategic planning session was held at 4:00 p.m. in the Memorial Media Center.
Ralph Brauer was the facilitator. The following were present: Heidi Mann, Ruth Lah,
Kathy Udovich, Penny Jankowski, James Pointer, Megan Anderson, Julie Hignell, Ray
Marsnik, Jeff Sundell, Tom Coombe, Kevin Abrahamson, Tom Omerza, Tim Leeson, Jim
Lah, Rochelle Sjoberg, Jason Kelley, Scott Kellerman, Molly Olson.
On the agenda: 1. Goal setting

Ely 4th of July Parade

Ely 4th of July Parade
 
The City of Ely’s 4th of July Parade will be on Tuesday,
July 4th at 1:00pm.  Line up starts at 10:30am on
4th Ave from Harvey Street to James Street including the
Ice Arena Parking lot and the green space.  

Please call City Hall, Clerk’s Office at 218-226-5449 to sign up to be in the parade. There will be ribbons & prizes awarded for kids entering decorated bikes, trikes, wagons and/or costumes, judging will be at Noon.
Parade starts at 4th Ave and Harvey St and follows Harvey Street to 2nd Ave East and then down Sheridan St, ending at 8th Ave (Whiteside Park). 

Volunteers are needed to assist with the parade.
If anyone is interested please contact the Clerk’s Office for more information.

The Fireworks Display will be put on by Premier Pyrotechnics.  The show is scheduled to start at 10:00pm over Miners Lake.

Proposals Sought: proposals for a broadband feasibility/engineering study

The Ely Area Broadband Coalition and the Ely Economic Development Authority are seeking proposals for a ç for the Ely Area. Proposals are due at Ely City Hall 209 East Chapman Street Ely, MN 55731 at 2 pm on Thursday June 15th. Anyone interested in providing a proposal can contact City Clerk-Treasurer Harold R. Langowski at elyod@ely.mn.us to receive a copy of the RFP. The EEDA reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to award this work in the best interest of the EEDA and City of Ely. Cemetery Clean-Up Days May 20-28

Cemetery Clean-Up Days May 20-28

The Ely Cemetery Committee has designated May 20-28 as Cemetery Clean-Up Week. Those who are interested in working on their own family plots or even those of others in need of attention are urged to help beautify the cemetery. Dirt will be provided by the City in several locations around the cemetery, tools will NOT be provided. Seeding or sodding needs to be done by individuals.

Please remove faded and deteriorating artificial floral arrangements and other decorations. The wire these contain causes problems with the lawn mowers and trimmers.

Trash and compost containers will be available May 20-28, as long as they are not abused.

On the 6th day of June 2017, at 9 a.m. in the Board Room of Independent School District #696, the written quotes for snowplowing for the school calendar year of 2017-2018 shall be opened. The quotes must conform to the specifications that are available to interested parties and which are on file with the Superintendent’s office at 600 E. Harvey St., Ely, Minnesota. After reviewing
the quotes, the District shall award a contract by direct negotiation consistent with the terms of Minn. Stat. 471.345.
