Attention Romberg Acres Residents

At the Tuesday, Sept. 12 Town of Morse board up supervisor meeting a resolution was passed in regards to St. Louis County’s request for the township to move mailboxes in the Romberg Acres neighborhood:

WHEREAS, the Town of Morse contracts with St. Louis County Public Works Department to provide snowplowing services on township roads; and

WHEREAS, the Romberg Acres neighborhood includes a series of township roads plowed by St. Louis County during the winter months; and

WHEREAS, St. Louis County through employee Tom Erchul has contacted the Town of Morse about the location of mailboxes in the Romberg Acres neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Town of Morse Supervisor Len Cersine toured the area with Tom Erchul to discuss the larger trucks being used by the county for snowplowing; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Morse Board of Supervisors have discussed the issue at the regular September meeting and agreed the mailboxes are not the property of the Town of Morse; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Morse Board of Supervisors recognizes the problem of personal mailboxes being too close to the edge of township roads in the Romberg Acres area; and

THEREFORE, the Town of Morse Board of Supervisors has decided to assist St. Louis County by providing a gravel pad alongside a township road in Romberg Acres for a central location for mailboxes.

Motion approved unanimously.
