Fernberg Road Work Resumes

Fernberg Road residents, visitors, and local businesses will encounter one-lane traffic across the Garden Lake bridge for the next four to six weeks as Redstone Construction finishes bridge repairs this spring.
This season’s work includes painting the bridge beams and railing to deter steel corrosion and extend the useful life of the new concrete bridge railing. Additionally, the Highway Department will begin brushing the ditches this week. This roadside maintenance will improve sign and mammal visibility along Fernberg Road between Garden Lake and Lake One.
Later this summer, Fall Lake Township will see Lake County’s first transportation sales tax-funded project as Scott Construction seals Fernberg Road between Garden Lake and Moose Lake Road. This pavement preservation project is expected to extend the serviceable life of the new blacktop. Motorists will encounter daytime lane closures during chip sealing operations.
Lake County thanks drivers for their patience and attention to work zone safety as we strive to complete these improvements with minimal inconveniences. For more information, please contact the Lake County Highway Engineer’s Office at 218-834-8380.
