Celebration of life service iplanned for 11:00 a.m., April 22, 2017

PEGGY LEE BEYER-ANDERSON, 55, of Winton passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born on January 7, 1962 at the Ely Bloomenson Hospital in Ely, MN. Her first years were spent living with her family at Bob Holden’s logging camp off of the Old Tomahawk Road. In 1966 the family moved to Winton, where she spent the rest of her life.

Peggy was a member of one of the largest classes from Ely High School, graduating in 1980. Many classmates will remember her as the Ely Timberwolf mascot during her time there.

Peggy was an avid outdoors woman. She loved to fish, hunt, pick berries, anything and everything that had to do with being one with nature. It is well documented amongst all in her family that she nearly always was the first to catch a fish, and usually the one who caught the most. Just this previous deer firearms season, with cancer ravaging her body, she got her buck hunting with brother Milt.

Peggy spent many years as a caregiver to those with terminal illnesses. She had compassion for her clients, and built close relationships with the families of those she took care of. During her illness, she received dozens of encouraging phone calls and messages from family members of the people who previously were in her care.

Peggy was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. The special bond she had with both of her children was always apparent. Her love of the outdoors and nature will have a lasting effect on everyone in her family, and will be her legacy passed down to her beloved grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her son Christopher Anderson of Babbit, daughter Brittany Swenson of Virginia; grandchildren Lynnzi Anderson and Bentley Taylor; and brothers Milton Beyer and Terry Beyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents Milton Sr (Pat) and Ivie Beyer, grandparents Ernest and Margaret Carpenter of Winton, and Frank and Ella Beyer of Merrill, Wisconsin.

The family have entrusted funeral arrangements to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely, Minnesota. A celebration of life service is planned for 11:00 a.m., April 22, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ely, MN.
