Marian was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, nana, and friend. A devout follower of Jesus, she found solace and strength in her faith and joy in using her musical talents to sing His praise. She was known for her compassion and dedicated much of her life to serving others as a nurse and volunteer; she worked as a Foster Grandparent and even ran a blood pressure clinic for her neighbors at Washington Manor. Marian cherished her role as a grandma and nana and showered her family with her love and presence. She was a lifelong and loyal friend to many, always willing to offer a helping hand or kind word. Marian loved an adventure - accompanying friends, family, and her husband on trips, including to see polar bears and another offering her nursing skills in Tanzania - but she also made everyday life exciting with visits to the family cabin and frequent road trips to Foley, MN. She found happiness in simple pleasures like garage saleing, fishing and gardening. She was known for her green thumb and ability to bring forth vibrant blooms, which mirrored her nurturing nature and ability to cultivate beauty wherever she went.

Marian’s legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life, honoring Marian’s remarkable journey, will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mountain Iron, Minnesota. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at 1 PM, with a luncheon to follow the service. Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
